LabConnect™
TCI
has years of experience developing bridges (interfaces) between medical
office practice management or electronic medical records (EMR) software
and laboratory ordering solutions. Typically, patient billing and
insurance information is taken directly from the clinic system(s), then
formatted and delivered to the lab system for ordering and billing.
TCI
has LabConnect™ interfaces to LabCorp of America and LabOne (now Quest
diagnostics) and can develop interfaces for national, local and/or
regional labs.
LabConnect for LabCorp™
LabCorp refers to this type
of interface as an Electronic Data Interface (EDI)
Electronic Data Interface provides the ability to electronically submit
orders to LabCorp and receive results from LabCorp through an interface
with existing Practice Management Systems (PMS), Office Management Systems
(OMS), or Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). Using EDI, LabCorp and
your system can efficiently exchange clinical test order and result
information.
LabCorp has bi-directional and uni-directional interfaces with many
vendors and software products.
Bi-directional interface
- electronic submission of
test orders to LabCorp and the electronic receipt of lab results from
LabCorp.
Uni-directional interface
- electronic transmission of
test result information from LabCorp the uni-directional EDI allows you to
receive, store, and print test results; however, electronic test ordering
is not available with this option.
TCI and LabCorp stand ready to actively work with your software vendor and
staff to implement or enhance electronic connectivity between your
facility and LabCorp. TCI is often utilized to develop new interfaces as a
result of the wealth of PMS data interchange experience we maintain.
Both TCI and LabCorp are committed to industry and regulatory standards
for data transmission including HL7, LOINC, and ASTM.
